Adam Port’s musical merits at this point in time, it shows that most of it took shape off the beaten path. Be it the conditions that sparked his DJ-career. Be it his approach of DJing itself or be it his artistic progression, manifested in his productions.

Keinemusik is a German electronic music record label. The label includes DJs and music producers Adam Port, &ME (whose real name is André), Rampa (whose real name is Gregor) and Reznik as well as artist Monja Gentschow, who creates the artwork.

Over the last years, Adam landed a string of much noticed releases on different labels, be it on Keinemusik, his Berlin-based label-mainstay and collective of fellow artists &ME, Rampa, Reznik and designer Monja Gentschow. Or be it on imprints like Freerange, Pets, Cocoon, Moon Harbour etc. It’s been tunes that immediately brought worldwide attention to his name. But then, instead of doing the obvious, getting a management, meeting demands, playing those big stages, delivering the hits, Adam once again did what felt best for him. Maintaining artistic integrity, releasing records that reflect where his love for music is at in one moment, not knowing where it might be on the very next release, and keeping DJ-sets not only interesting for a crowd, but also himself.

That’s where he is at right now. There’s no scene-dictated tunnel view in his activities, there is only a pointed emphasis on style, on groove and sophistication. An emphasis, that, because it’s informed by Dub, Dancehall, Rap, Soul or even Psychedelic Rock, is advanced enough to always shine through the inflationary characteristic of the genre as notably original.

Granted: What Adam Port is laying his hands on might have its place within the parameters of House and Techno, but it’s always more than that. It’s his style.

Adam Port, real name Adam Polaszek, is a DJ and producer born in Germany. Unlike many other DJs who got their start with house and techno in a very self-referential way, 16-year-old Adam was into Hardcore. As he got older he uncovered his love for hip-hop and leaned heavily into that genre. It didn’t take long for him to become interested in turntablism and start collecting vinyl to pursue a career DJing. After his skills evolved and he became more comfortable behind the decks, he discovered techno.

Though many people have put his music into the category of house or techno, his production is constantly evolving. Take for example his latest release, “Forms of Love”, which intertwines strings and horn pads along with a catchy piano hook to create a harmonic tune that sends listeners on a dreamlike drift. As a DJ, Adam likes to keep his sets interesting, not only for the crowds but also himself.

Adam’s music and overall career goal is simple; he wants to connect the three different worlds he lives in – music, a straight edge lifestyle, and fashion. His sophisticated grooves have been described as deep polyrhythmic patterns that slowly rise to a climax, causing a floor-bound euphoria. He has landed tracks on imprints such as Freerange, Pets, Cocoon, and Moon Harbour.

While you may have seen Adam Port’s solo act at Coachella, Circoloco, Lost Village, and Time Warp, he is also part of a five member Berlin-based collective known as Keinemusick. Not to be confused with his own label, Keinemusik is composed of three other DJs, Rampa, &ME, and Reznik along with creative designer/artist Monja Gentshow. This group of friends has been performing and producing together since 2009.

Whether working alongside Keinemusik or releasing solo tracks under Adam Port, the music coming from Adam feels like a dancefloor meditation that makes time fade into insignificance.

Keinemusik is known internationally and throughout Germany in the field of electronic music (techno & house). The members of the record label have had international appearances as DJs, including appearances at BoilerRoom Berlin, 2019 at Fusion or 2021 at Tomorrowland. The music label contributed a mix for the BBC Essential Mix series and Groove magazine in 2021 and was part of the Arte United We Stream program on 30 April 2020.

In 2020, the “Cayo Perico Heist” update included Keinemusik in the action-adventure game Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online, which is published by Rockstar Games. The group performs there in a virtual club in the fictional city of Los Santos. The game has previously featured artists such as Dixon, Solomun, and Tale of Us. In 2022, &ME and Rampa were involved in the songs “Falling Back” and “A Keeper” on Honestly, Nevermind, the seventh studio album by Canadian rapper Drake.

In 2024, the label released Adam Port, Stryv and Orso’s song featuring Malachiii, “Move”.
